Honours Blog - Vijaya Vittala Pillars - Week 1

Updated: Jan 23

16/01/2023 - 22/01/2023

'Within the Vijaya Vittala Temple in Hampi, South India are 56 pillars, each 3.6 metres high, which when gently tapped produce delicate musical notes. Tourists have been travelling to the UNESCO World Heritage Site for years to hear the over 500-year-old temple's mesmerising music.' -- classicfm

'Each main pillar is wrapped

with seven minor pillars, which emit the musical notes.' -- indiatimes

Firstly I started by opening up a new UE5 project with the third person preset and starter content. I wanted to do the measurements this way because I didn't want to mess around too much with my grid size and preferences within Maya since I've got it perfect to match the UE5 grid anyways. I exported the default character to use in Maya to have a size reference when creating the pillars that I can compare.

The Unreal character model is about 7 squares of my grid long, give or take. I did some research and the Unreal mannequin is 180cm, or 6 foot.
